Tiger Woods Designed Course Proposed as Part of Expansion at Lake Anna

Cutalong Golf Club at Lake Anna, recently rebranded as part of the larger Tributer Resort, is moving closer to approval for a major expansion that would include a second 18-hole golf course designed by TGR Design. Reef Capital Partners has asked the Louisa County Planning Commission to rezone roughly 394 acres directly adjacent to the existing Cutalong course.

If approved, the rezoning would allow for a private golf course, up to 134 residential homes, and a collection of resort amenities. A public hearing is tentatively scheduled for March 12, with the Louisa County Board of Supervisors potentially voting on the proposal as early as April. A preliminary routing map from TGR Design was presented at a recent community meeting, offering the first public glimpse of the proposed layout.

Reef Capital Partners acquired the troubled 1,000 acre Cutalong property in 2019 after it went through bankruptcy and a courthouse auction. Since then, the firm has completed the Tom Clark designed course and opened a new clubhouse in late 2025. Over the past year, the property has been rebranded from Cutalong to Tributer Resort as Reef began laying the groundwork for the broader expansion. More than 85 million dollars has been invested to date.

The expansion would create two seperate clubs within the Tributer property. The existing Cutalong course will remain private but will add a resort component. Villas and cottages are expected to offer overnight golf packages beginning in summer 2026. Access is planned to be limited to members, their guests, and overnight stay-and-play visitors. The new TGR Design course is planned as a fully private club. Early plans call for a dedicated clubhouse, a caddie program, and no resort play. Membership would require property ownership along with a 150,000 dollar initiation fee, and current Cutalong members would have the option to upgrade. Combined with residential development already planned around Cutalong, the broader Tributer property could eventually span roughly 1,400 acres.

Tributer is one part of a rapidly expanding golf portfolio for Reef Capital Partners. Black Desert Resort opened in 2023 highlighted by the final course design from Tom Weiskopf and has already hosted both PGA Tour and LPGA Tour stops. Reef has also partnered with TGR Design at Marcella Club in Park City, Utah, where Tiger Woods is designing a mountain course for a limited membership private club. In Tennessee, Reef partnered with Sweetens Cove Golf Club in 2024, with plans for a new lighted par three course along with additional cabins and a distillery.
